Topic: take-along carb source-
LynnGr, Mar 4 2009 8:30 am38 words

I'd like to keep a carbohydrate source in my purse for when I don't have time to eat a healthy snack. I know a candy bar isn't the best choice, but what else could I take with me?

I think peanut butter crackers are a good thing to carry. Not all peanut butter crackers come from the plant that caused people to get sick.

I also like 100 calorie packs of things. They usually run about 1 carb choice. I've taken those with me to meetings when I knew my lunch was going to run very late.

There's also glucerna bars. They come in regular size and mini size.

My last idea would be some dry cereal.

When you decide what your going to take I'd be interested to know. It might give me some new ideas.

Thanks for the ideas. Sometimes I use Nature Valley granola bars, because my kids like those so I buy them by the box. I don't want to carry something that tastes too good, though, because then I'm likely to eat it for a snack, and not have it when I really need it!
