I want to join a gym this year because I know it will help me exercise more regularly, but I have feelings of self-consciousness that keep me from committing. Does anyone have advice to share on how to overcome the gym jitters?

It can help to join the gym with a friend so you don't feel alone. I also like to join a class, because then I can meet people more easily.
