Topic: Food pushers-
tinap1, Feb 13 2009 5:29 pm53 words

"Food pushers." We all know them. They're especially prevalent during holiday seasons. Does anyone have any tips on how to resist the temptation of well-meaning party-goers or throwers who try to cajole us into taking a second helping or tasting a "fab" new dessert? Any strategies for dealing with diet-sabotaging friends and relatives?

I always rave over the food and ask for recipes. This positive feedback makes the hostess feel good, and she usually doesn't have time to push more food on me. I've also perfected the art of filling up my plate with lower calorie food and having a small amount of the higher calorie foods. People don't notice I'm eatiing lower calorie as long as I have a lot of food on my plate!

My mother use to push food on me.
We live about 150 miles apart now.
When I go for a day visit I take her out to eat. We go to a place that has food she likes and food that fits into my meal plan.
