Topic: Junk food or something healthy?-

A study in the September/October issue of the Journal of Nutrition Education and Behavior found that even when we have good intentions to eat healthier foods, when it comes down to actually making a healthy choice we often eat junk food. Researcher asked people to choose between four snacks: an apple, a banana, a candy bar and a molasses waffle. About half said they'd choose the apple or banana. But when they were actually presented with the food, 27% of those who said they'd eat fruit chose a sugary snack. Does this happen to you? Do you find yourself planning to eat something lower calorie, then at the last minute changing your mind?

This is one of my issues....junk food... even though I have cut way back on the junk food stashes in my home, my husband likes his favorite things. So I will have healthy altneratives but my treat tooth kicks in and I give in. Especially now that we are in the holiday season, it is especially tempting to have something that is not a diabetic friendly food.

You're so right that watching someone else eat junk food is really tempting. I wonder if it's possible for your husband to keep junk food out of the house. He could eat it at work, but help you by not keeping it at home. Would that help?
