Topic: How not to exercise-
tinap1, Oct 12 2008 6:09 pm93 words

There's a lot of information out there about exercise and what kinds you should do to spark weight loss. However, many of us are not aware of how "not to exercise" or of the things we are doing that could be sabotaging our efforts. For example, using bad form on cardio machines or reading during your workout can cause more harm than good by throwing off your alignment or causing injury.

Do you have any tips to share about how "not to exercise?"

Has focusing on your form while exercising improved your results?

I learned to NOT use hand weights when walking because it can cause elbow or shoulder problems. If I want to increase the number of calories I burn while walking, they suggested walking up hills (that's easy to do because I live in Vermont) or wearing a backpack with 10 pounds evenly distributed in it. That's better for our joints than using hand weights.
