Some of us may think of spending a day at the beach relaxing, plopping down on a blanket and soaking up rays. But the beach can offer great ways to stay on track with your weight loss goals. Playing frisbee, swimming and boogie-boarding can all count in your weight loss exercise regimen.

Do you use the beach for exercise?

Do you have any great beach exercises to share?

Like many people, I like to walk along the beach for exercise. Sometimes I go to Lake Michigan, where there are tall mountains of sand called dunes. Running up the dunes is a great way to rev up your heart rate!

Running up the dunes is a great idea. I watch my daughter do it all the time. I don't think I could be quite as fast as her, but it would definitely get my heart rate up there :) I have a boardwalk where I live, so I like to alternate walking along the board walk with taking the ramp down and walking on the sand.
