Topic: "Free foods"-
tinap1, Sep 17 2008 1:37 pm105 words

There are a lot of "free foods" (those that have either 20 calories or less or 5 grams carbohydrates or less per serving) out there that can help us to add a bit of zest to our daily meals. Some free exchanges include a ½ a cup of salsa and sugar-free gelatin. Other examples of free foods are 5 baby carrots, 2 saltine type crackers, or 1 cup light popcorn. (Remember - serving size still matters even with free foods.)

What other free foods do you recommend?

Do you work free foods into your daily diet to add a bit of pep to your meals?

I just love the sugar-free gelatin. Sometimes I will add some fresh fruit to it and you end up feeling like you are getting a good treat. I also try to serve celery with meals (like they do when you order certain things at restaurants. I find the kids especially will munch on it, eating less of the carbs and fat items.
