Topic: Getting more fiber into our diet-
tinap1, Aug 27 2008 7:08 am86 words

Dietary fiber is not only an important element to weight loss; it also helps people with diabetes to stabilize blood sugar levels and improves your blood cholesterol profile. It's not always easy to get adequate amounts of fiber into our daily diets.

Do you have any suggestions on how to "bulk up" on fiber during the day?

Have you incorporated more fiber into your diet and seen a positive impact on your blood sugar levels? If so, how much fiber do you build into your diet daily?

I have a list of the fiber content of various foods, and use it to try and choose at least one higher fiber food with two meals or snacks each day. For example, I might eat an orange instead of drink orange juice at breakfast, eat a bowl of higher fiber cereal like Bran Flakes as an afternoon snack. Once I figured out which foods were higher in fiber, it was easy to incorporate them into my daily food choices.
