Topic: Focusing on your workout-
tinap1, Jul 28 2008 12:48 pm88 words

I tend to be one of those people who concentrate more on my workout being over than on my goals. I do anything to keep occupied, listen to music, go over a to-do list, rather than tune in to my breathing and focus on the training my body needs.

Do you have advice to share about how to think through your workout for better results?

How do you clear your mind and focus on breathing, and pushing yourself to the levels you need to achieve your body goals?

Sometimes I like to zone out and not pay attention to breathing or my body when I'm exercising. But I find that if I'm following a specific workout that requires I pay attention to my heart rate, then I get really focused. For example, I might run 1/2 mile at 85% of my upper heart rate limit, rest 2 minutes, and repeat. I get really focused on my breathing, arms pumping, legs reaching out, etc which helps me ignore the pain!
