Sometimes I like to zone out and not pay attention to breathing or my body when I'm exercising. But I find that if I'm following a specific workout that requires I pay attention to my heart rate, then I get really focused. For example, I might run 1/2 mile at 85% of my upper heart rate limit, rest 2 minutes, and repeat. I get really focused on my breathing, arms pumping, legs reaching out, etc which helps me ignore the pain! |
