Whenever I make changes in my personal eating habits, those changes transfer over to other members of family. Since I'm the primary food shopper and cook, if I don't buy cookies then we don't have cookies in the house to eat. Last night we had three different types of vegetables for dinner since I'm trying to eat more veggies throughout the day. My oldest son put lettuce on his hamburger, but skipped the broccoli and sliced tomatoes. He really doesn't like tomatoes, so I didn't push them, but I DID encourage him to eat some broccoli. He said he already had one veggie - and I replied that it never hurts to eat more!
During all of this, my husband remained silent - but he also served himself a portion of all three vegetables. Progress! |
