Topic: Favorite breakfast?-

It seems like most of us know that eating breakfast, especially a healthy and balanced breakfast, is one of the keys to losing weight. What's your favorite breakfast meal, and how do you make sure you have time to eat breakfast?

I never ate breakfast before being diagnosed with diabetes! I never seemed to have the time.
Now with taking oral medication in the morning, if I don't eat breakfast, my bg drops too low, so I have to make the time. I keep it simple however to fit into my schedule. I buy low carb yogurt and Glucerna Cereal or a high fiber low sugar cereal to mix in.
I eat vanilla yogurt mixed with 1/2 cup glucerna strawberry or almond cereal. It is yummy and I never get tired of eating the same thing everyday. (sounds like a commercial, but really it isn't) I can eat this at my desk at work with no mess or fuss. On weekends I expand to egg white scrambled eggs a slice of whole wheat bread with sometimes some sugar free jam on it. I just bought some steel cut oats to give that a try and see how my bg levels respond. I love oatmeal but have been a little afraid of the carbs.

I'm guilty of not eating breakfast as much as I should. I find I am just not hungry in the mornings. However, I usually try to get a low sugar/carb drinkable yogurt and that seems to go down fairly easy. I do notice it helps my levels stay even and I feel more energetic.

I can't function without breakfast! In fact, I get up 15 minutes early to make sure I have time to eat. My usual breakfast is a toasted mini-bagel (they're about the size of a hockey puck) with peanut butter, a piece of fruit, and a glass of skim milk. Sometimes I have two breakfasts, like the hobbits. This happens when I get up early to exercise, so I eat the first breakfast at 5am. After I'm done exercising by 7:30, I eat my second breakfast. I have two favorites: scrambled eggs cooked in the microwave with a slice of whole grain toast; or a smoothie I make with skim milk, plain yogurt, 1/4 of a banana and frozen strawberries.

I can't wait for the morning so I can eat breakfast!
