I think so but of course that's just my side of it. I'd love to see all food cooked and served in a healthy way. I'd love to see the sodium way low etc. I have health issues but not all people do.
When I go to a resturant I know that the portions will be way to big along with the fat, carbs, sodium, and calories. It's my responsibility to make good choices
I can go out to eat and choose a place that sells only ribeye steak or I can go to a place that sells steaks that are leaner cuts. I can either choose to eat the oversize portions they serve while there or get a carryout and take it home and divide what's left into individual servings and freeze those for later use. I recently did that with fajitas. I had a total of 4 individual servings from that oversize portion.
While trans-fats are bad for everyone is it really fair to the resturant owner to ban them. Will it affect the taste of his product. Will it affect his profits. Where do we draw the line and stop being the food police. That owner never holds a gun to your head and makes you select and eat an unhealthy choice.
Most people don't eat out everymeal. If you have health issues you certainly shouldn't be. When you do eat out there are healthy choices available and you can either choose to select those or just enjoy an occassional treat at the resturant. An occassional meal out isn't going to make you unhealthy nor is it going to make you gain weight.
It's not the sometimes but what you normaly do that counts. |
