Has anyone tried a vegan diet, where you don't eat any type of animal products? I read that it can help lower blood sugar levels.

I am not a vegan BECAUSE I do eat fish (small amounts) I feel I need that type of protein. The balance of my diet is fruits, nuts, veggies, dairy, grains etc. For ME (no hate letters please) I do not beleive in veganizm ?? (is that a word). Some people can sustain there diet that way. I also have heard being a vegetarian can help I think moderation moderation moderation.................. My thoughts. I have been a "veggie" for 26 years a Diabetic for 2, so there ya go

Hope this helps

Hi Darleen. I think the key is just what you mentioned: each person figuring out what type of foods work best for their body and their beliefs. Have you heard about a 'flexitarian' way of eating? It incorporates a little bit of everything!
