Topic: Increasing daily activity-
LynnGr, Oct 23 2008 1:43 pm57 words

Everybody knows that walking is one way to increase our activity level, burn calories, and lose weight. Yet we continue to be a mostly sedentary society, driving more than we walk. Have you taken any steps (pun intended) to increase the amount you walk instead of drive? How have you successfully built more activity into your day?

Hi, Lynn. This is my first day here. I started walking during lunch hour almost a year ago, and have slowly built my way up to 3 miles a day. Now, I walk to the Starbucks for coffee break, take the stairs at work, and I wear my kids "Tony the Tiger" pedometer, counting to 10,000 each day!

Wow! You've really made a lot of changes, Meg. You must feel great about your increased activity. Can I ask you what got you started on this healthier path? You're definitely going to motivate others!
