Topic: What do you eat at the Fair?-
LynnGr, Oct 19 2008 1:58 pm58 words

I've heard about deep-fried Twinkies, but chocolate covered bacon is a new one to me. Many parts of the country hold fairs in the Fall, and much of the food available at the fair is a nutritional disaster. How do you handle eating at the fair while keeping your blood sugar levels under control at the same time?

Maybe it's different for county fairs, but at the state fair we went to last week the prices at the exotic and even "normal" food booths were so outrageous that it was easy to just say NO. We did relent and had a burger & fries for dinner only because we were attending an evening show. Otherwise we would have just waited till we got home to prepare a sensible dinner. There were picnic tables and areas where we noticed some people who brought food from home. That would be the best way, just avoid the junk altogether.

I like your way of thinking! I've never thought about bringing my own food to the Fair, but you're right: why not?! Compared to the nutrition disasters that lurk at the Fair, I'm sure a burger and fries was one of the healthiest options.
