Topic: Keeping a healthy perspective about food-
tinap1, Oct 9 2008 8:40 am75 words

With all of the attention those of us living with diabetes need to pay to our daily diet, it's not hard to see how people can become obsessed with food in a negative way. Ways not to fall into an unhealthy preoccupation with food include focusing on food choices rather than restrictions and not categorizing foods as "good" or "bad." What other advice do you have to help people keep a healthy perspective about food?

I try to remember that each of us make hundreds of choices every day about our foods, beverages, exercise, and other self-care activities. Somebody told me just last week that we can't expect perfection from ourselves in an imperfect world, and I love that thought! I don't have to be perfect, just do my best.
