Topic: Losing weight by eating slower?-
tinap1, Aug 7 2008 9:30 am97 words

I'm one of those people who gulps down my food. Experts say that eating food slowly is one solid way to take off the pounds. This is due to the fact that from the time you begin eating, it takes the brain 20 minutes to start signaling feelings of fullness. Fast eaters often eat beyond their true level of fullness before the 20 minute signal has had a chance to set in.

Are you a fast eater or a slow eater?

Were you aware of the eating slow/weight loss connection? Have you given slow eating a try?

I used to be a very fast eater; just a habit I always had. For about the last year or so, I've been trying to slow down. I've noticed that the slower pace seems to be in the process of becoming a habit now as there are times I don't even know I'm doing it, yet I'm one of the last ones to finish a meal. It does help me to eat less overall at a meal and still feel as satisfied.
