Eating plenty of fiber from legumes, whole grains, fruits and vegetables is not only good for your digestive system and heart, but it may also help keep blood sugar levels under control. Fiber helps us feel full so we eat fewer calories, and it also improves insulin sensitivity. Do you pay attention to the fiber content of your foods? What are your favorite ways to make sure that you get optimum fiber intake from food?

I have diverticulitis, so I have to pay attention to fiber. I also take fiber supplements every day. To learn what foods were best, I looked on the internet for them and picked out some of my favorites. Then I try to eat more of those. Two of my favorites are broccoli and raspberries, although I do try to be careful with fruit due to my diabetes. Spinach and winter squash are also ones I enjoy.

I think it's interesting that you used the Internet to help you figure out good sources of fiber. Balancing blood sugar control with diverticulitis takes some extra time, but it sounds like you're managing well.
