Many of us enjoy eating traditional foods prepared from recipes passed down through generations of our families. Do you find that you need to change the ingredients to fit your diabetes health needs? How do you continue to enjoy family-favorite foods while still keeping good diabetes blood sugar control?

My husband comes from a Polish background and many of the family favorite recipes are not only high in carbs and fat, but fried on top of it. We've found that we can bake many of them to make them a bit healthier. We also add vegetables to many of them and reduce the noodles or potatoes in them.
