Topic: Carbs or saturated fat?-
LynnGr, Jul 16 2008 7:57 am57 words

Which is more important to you: the carbohydrate content of a food, or the saturated fat content? Carbohydrate content of foods affects blood sugar levels, but people with diabetes are at increased risk of heart disease, and choosing foods lower in saturated fat can help decrease cardiovascular risk. How do you manage both of these food recommendations?

I look at carbs more closely, to be honest. With both my husband and I having diabetes, keeping the blood sugar under control is critical. That's not to say I don't look at saturated fat, but it's secondary to the carbs.
