Being diagnosed with diabetes can be difficult to accept. It is a lifelong problem that will require vigilance and many changes. The payoff, of course, is a healthy body.

What kind of support system do you have to voice your questions and ideas about your diabetes to? Do you have family, friends, or a formal support group?

Are there others around you who also have the disease? Do you provide support for them?

What do you think is most important when supporting someone with diabetes? Why do you think it is more important than other considerations?
